works, but not exactly what I ordered

Let me first state I'm reviewing the product in the picture.
I actually ordered the other product by Dekcell: B000vniw9c
but received this one instead(b000emwfuw). If the picture is accurate.
The one I ordered was a whole .04 cents less!
I'm gonna go on a rampage!
The other one had a 10 watt higher output though this one does not seem to affect my computer, by the lower amperage.
The other one was supposed to find the right voltage on it's own. This one has a switch. 16v,18v,19v, or 20volts. It says not to change to voltage when it is plugged in, and it would be unlikely but not impossible to actually move the switch by accident. I plan on putting some tape over the switch so it cannot move from 19v.
This one in the above description says it operates off 100 to 240 volts, but the picture shows the 12vDC ciggy style plug. So somewhere there is a problem with the accuracy of the info listed.
It would be difficult to connect the adapters with reverse polarization as one pin is larger than the other, and I don't know of any device that has the + as the outer barrell, and the inside as the - side.
It's got a bright blue power on LED on the well ventilated unit.
It's got a red incandescent bulb on the ciggy male plug. This end gets a little warm. The Brick itself does not get nearly as warm as the one that came with my Laptop.
The ciggy plug itself is almost twice as long as what your used to, so if your have a lid which closes closely over the plugs, it will not close over this one.
I got this product because my 800 watt inverter I was using to power the laptop is loud and inefficient. I seem to be consuming about 1 amp to 3 amps less per hour than the stock brick powered by the 800 watt coleman inverter, averaging just over 1 amp. So I'm using about 25% less energy using this product.
Which is why I bought it. |
